She was born on November 26, 1929, to the parents of Gus and Aspais William. During her school-aged years, she attended Holy Rosary Institution in Lafayette, Louisiana. She then furthered her education and went to nursing school in Springfield, MA. She worked as a nurse in various positions for 20 years at the Carswell Air Force Base Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.
Evelyn married her childhood friend Alfred Joseph Jr. in Lafayette, LA. They were married for 41 years (until his death) and this love union blessed the couple with three children, Deborah Taylor, Cedric Joseph, and Blanche Joseph.
Evelyn and her husband joined Our Mother of Mercy in 1974. Not only active in her church, she worked tirelessly on community service projects with the Saint Anne Altar Society. Her favorite pastimes included crocheting and reading.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Aspais Williams, her spouse, Alfred Joseph Jr, and children Blanche Joseph and Deborah Taylor.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory that will be kept alive in the hearts of her son, Cedric (Carole) Joseph of Beaumont TX. Also her grandchildren, Evelyn Joseph, Felicia Nabors, Bertha Clay, Jason Joseph, Andre Joseph, Muriah Braxton, Alfred Joseph, and 11 great-grandchildren. Also, a host of other family members and friends.
In honoring her wishes, funeral arrangements are as follows. A viewing will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Friday, July 21st from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. A rosary will take place prior to the funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22nd. The funeral will follow at 12:00 p.m. Both the rosary and funeral will be held at Our Mother of Mercy. The interment will take place at Laurel Land Funeral Home Cemetery, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX, 76134.
