In 1956, Eliverto graduated from Lyford High School in Lyford, Texas. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1958 to October 1963. He met the love of his life on Easter Sunday of 1964, Jessie Gonzalez, after a 5 month courtship. The two were wed on September 5, 1964 at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Ft. Worth. September 5th was a significant date, because it was also the anniversary date of his parents Yrineo and Rafaela.
After working in the cotton gins of W. Texas, Eliverto journeyed to Ft. Worth with friends to visit extended family. He decided to stay and found employment with Sears Roebuck & Co. He started as warehouse help, delivery helper, truck driver and eventually worked his way up to warehouse manager. He retired from Sears. He later worked for the N. Texas Girl Scouts as a handyman and facility maintenance.
Eliverto played fast pitch softball from high school, in the Army and in Ft. Worth City Leagues into the early 70's where he developed a reputation as a pitcher with a mean fastball. He was an avid baseball fan and loved Texas Rangers games. He also enjoyed professional rodeos. He enjoyed his farm and taking care of his livestock until he was physically unable to do so. Eliverto enjoyed family gatherings and would never pass up an occasion to celebrate events with his wife, sons and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. He was a lifelong Roman Catholic and was a member of St. Jude's Parish in Mansfield, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gustavo, Leonel, Israel, Emilio and Abel. Sisters Amalia, Aurora and Melida.
