Dona “Netta” Stewart March 31, 1954 was a special day for Alfred J. Harris and Freddie Lee Lang, for the Lord blessed them with a daughter, here comes “Netta.” Dona attended elementary school in Frankston, Tx. They relocated to Fort Worth where she attended Morningside Middle and was a 1972 graduate of Polytechnic High School. She joined Greater St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, under the
leadership of Dr. R.B. Gray. She continued her service with the Lord under the leadership of Pastor Dwight C. Jackson. She was a faithful member and served as the Hospitality President, Youth Sponsor,
member of the Sanctuary & Seasoned Saints Choirs, member of the Pastoral Committee & Nurse’s Aide. If you met her, she invited you to her church. She loved the Lord. She was employed by American Red Cross, where she retired. She loved holding conversations and building relationships with her clients. She
couldn’t stop being a servant. She worked for Perfect Praise Day Care & Kingdom Family Children’s Learning Center. On January 23rd, God blessed her with her only daughter, ConSciance “Connie”. At first she was afraid for her daughter being in the Air Force; however, later she was very proud of her. If you called her Netta you were family. If there was a need and she could help, she made sure not only her family, but anyone who needed help was well taken care of. If you needed a chocolate cake, you called Netta, Dona or Sis. Stewart. She was blessed with a mini version of herself, her great-granddaughter, “Bre’Airre.” Most of the time, when you saw Netta, you saw Bre’Airre. On Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 2:53 pm (1453 hrs.), surrounded by her loving family and close friends, Dona heard the Master’s call and humbly answered.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father and two brothers. She leaves behind to carry out her legacy, her only child ConSciance “Cocoa” Jackson (Terry), Three grandchildren, Brechanique Briscoe (Gary Jr.),
Terri Jackson and Terry Jackson, Jr. Three great grandchildren, Bre’Airre Holman, Gary Briscoe III and Gizelle Briscoe. Four sisters Owana “Sister” Cook (Kartez), Theressa Dixon, Rodessa Harris, Marianne
Harris, and two brothers, Joseph Perry and Danny Harris. Dona also left a host of friends and relatives that will celebrate her forever.
