Debbie was born to Carl Joe and Doris Harbin Walker on December 20, 1950. She was blessed with a beautiful voice, singing mainly in church, but she really enjoyed singing with family and friends.
Debbie was known for her sense of humor, sometimes a little bawdy, but she was so much fun to be around. She was kind and generous and opened her home to all who needed her. She showed that by warmly welcoming Carly and Coleman’s friends, no matter their needs. Debbie loved working with seniors at Covenant Place, and she even enjoyed being the caretaker of her ex-husband, Don Driver, the father of their children. We will miss many things about Debbie, not the least of which will be her chocolate and lemon ice box pies!
Debbie is survived by her two children, Carly and Coleman (Lacy). She loved her kids! She is also survived by her brother Eddie Walker and his wife Mary Jo, and by her sister Doris Jean Grace. In addition, she is survived by nephews Jeff Grace, Todd Grace (Amie), Clint Walker and Lance Bixler, and nieces Stephanie Walker Yates (Jeff) and Mindy Bixler Jennings (Sean), numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Doris Walker and brother-in-law Dennis Grace. It must have been a glorious homecoming when she met up with them.
Debbie was cremated and there was no service, however, we will have a celebration of Debbie’s life from 3:00-5:00 on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Come and share your memories of Debbie with us (especially those she never told her kids).
