Debbie Maria Smith was born on January 28, 1956 in Port Arthur, Texas to David and Cathryn Smith. She was the second of six children. Debbie graduated from Southwest High School and earned an AA degree from Tarrant County College. She was a Workforce and Reentry Specialist with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office since November 5, 2018.
Debbie was the proud mother of two sons: Brian Willis and Allyn Smith. Her children were everything to her, and she worked diligently to provide them with anything they needed or wanted. Known as “the fun aunt” in the family, Debbie loved to take her nieces and nephews to bowling alleys, restaurants, malls, haunted houses, and amusement parks.Debbie had a vibrant, larger than life personality. Everyone that had the privilege to meet her was enriched by her joyous presence. She never met a stranger; all of her friends quickly became family. Every holiday, party, dinner, or other special occasion was planned to accommodate extra guests as Debbie was generous and would invite anyone that didn’t have plans. They are now considered family and there is still a plate for them.
Debbie was strong and unwavering in her faith. She would tell everyone to get their affairs in order and trust in the Lord. Debbie placed her life in God’s hands and followed Him to the paradise that is heaven.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, David L. Smith, Jr. and sister, Carla R. Smith.
Debbie leaves to cherish her memories, sons Brian Willis and Allyn Smith; mother, Cathryn Smith; siblings, Mechall Patterson, David L. Smith III (Maria), Ann Smith, and Jon Smith (Sharmaine); a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and countless friends.
