Chester was born in Mesa, Arizona then moved to and raised in Lubbock ,Texas. Chester graduated Valedictorian from New Deal High School. After a year in College he enrolled in the United States Army from October 27,1954 to October 25,1957. He served as a Combat Engineer , Construction Foreman, and Assistant Engineer Foreman. He received a USAF Outstanding Unit Award as well as a Good Conduct Medal. He also spent time on an emergency assignment with the United States Marine Corps in December 1955. After his military service he went to work for the United Postal Service.
He married Karon Ball on December 30th,1967 at Lonesome Baptist Church where he was a member. He continued working for The United States Postal Service for 40 years . He later worked for the Grapevine Recreation Center and retired once more after 10 years. Chester loved spending quiet days just being with his wife , he had a heart for helping others ,he loved gardening , walking , reading, and playing with his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Chester B. Rozell led a life well lived.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Karon B. Rozell , his daughter Chandra Anease Rozell Savage and son-in-law Rodney Savage. His Grandchildren , Chase Savage , Lacye Savage Mora and Dalton Savage , and 7 wonderful great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Elaine Pierson , Patricia Stone, Betty Whitson and Sue Wilkerson.
His Memorial Service will be held Friday , March 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Shannon Funeral Chapel, 6001 Rufe Snow Drive , Fort Worth, Texas, 76148.
