Born on June 1st, 1944 in Alvarado, Texas to JR and Ava Pruitt, Carrol went on to accomplish many great things during his lifetime. Known to his family as "cotton" because of the color of his hair growing up, he was an artist at heart. Whether it be painting, woodworking or drawing, he could do it all and many have learned from him and own some of his beautiful works of art. It was not uncommon to find him tinkering in his shop at home or around the funeral home and cemetery that he worked at for 30 years.
A kind and gentle soul, he was always ready to give his shirt off of his back to help someone in need. Selfless, loving, caring, and hard working are just a few words that describe Carrol perfectly to those who knew him best. During his free time, Carrol was a member of a rendezvous historical reenactment group and loved to cook often experimenting in the kitchen. He always enjoyed a cold Coke and a Butterfinger candy bar to the point where his coworkers would hide them for him. Carrol also had a weakness for a good vanilla milkshake. His family meant the world to him and nothing would stop him from spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all.
A celebration of Carrol's life will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas.
