Bobby J. Moore of Ft. Worth, TX passed away Thursday, December 1. He was born February 16, 1928 in Roby, TX. He was married to Doris Patterson Moore who proceeded him in death after 54 years of marriage.
After graduating from Roby High School, where Bobby was a standout football player, he made his way to Texas A&M University and walked onto the football team as a running back. After two years in College Station Bobby enlisted in the US Navy. Bobby was stationed in Washington DC where he spent four years in the US Navy Guard. While there Bobby continued to pursue his love of football and played on the Washington DC Naval Base football team. Bobby’s love of Texas A&M never faded. Through the years Bobby attended many Aggie football games and was an avid follower of their recruiting classes. If asked, he would provide a breakdown of every player recruit in the Texas A&M program. He was also an avid softball player. He played in many senior leagues, traveling the country, playing in tournaments until he was 85. He won the Gold Glove in the 75 and over World Championships. Bobby’s passion for sports was only exceeded by his love for family and God. He loved telling stories and throwing ball with his great grandchildren. He attended services at Legacy Church Fort Worth and was active in many functions and church activities until the time of his death. Bobby was one of the founding members of the church that started in 1945.
He is survived by his daughter Carol Ann Meredith and husband James. Grandchildren Tara Schrayer and husband Michael, Brent Meredith and wife Janie. He is also survived by three great grandchildren Conner and Meredith Schrayer, and Hudson Meredith.
