She was born November 17, 1942, in Lake Worth, Texas. She worked alongside her family at Diamond E Industries in Fort Worth, Texas for many years, until she retired in 2002. Anita married the love of her life, Jimmy Hunter, in 1957. They were high school sweethearts. At the age of 15 they eloped! Many said it would never last. They celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary this year 2023. Jimmy and Anita never spent a night apart, with the exception of his working at the fire station.
Anita and Jimmy moved to Alvarado, Texas in 1978, There they had cattle, dogs, cats, & chickens; anything that found its way to their home, she would take it in. Anita loved animals, they were all named and her babies. It is also said that she was a crossword puzzle master, if you needed an answer to a crossword clue, Anita was your Girl.
After years of watching Jimmy play softball, she decided to form her own softball team, The Firefighters Delights. Many lifelong friendships were formed.
Anita would light up a room with her smile and her contagious laugh. She loved to “stir it up”. If you met Anita once, you never forgot her! She was a special friend to so many, never will there be another quite like NITA.
Anita (Sis), as her father often called her, was preceded in death by her mother, AnnaBell Roberson Egger; father, G.D. “Doy” Egger; Carolyn Egger; and Gil Ward.
