Wilma Carol LaRue, 92, passed away October 13, 2024, at Coventry Meadows Assisted Living in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born December 21, 1931 in Pleasant Township, Allen County, IN, daughter of Adolph Genth and Clara (née Bump) Genth.
Wilma graduated from Huntertown High School in 1950. She worked in the Accounting Department for thirty-two years at Classic Products, Fort Wayne. She enjoyed watching auto racing, basketball and was an avid Purdue Boilermaker, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics fan and she especially liked Larry Bird and Michael Jordan. Wilma spent many hours being a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family. She spent as much time as possible enjoying her children.
Wilma is survived by her sons, Norman Wayne (Cynthia) LaRue of Itasca, TX and Tony (Janet) LaRue of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Rebecca Stryker of Fort Wayne, IN; along with eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Clara McClish; and daughter, Carolyn Holbrook.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Monday, October 21, 2024, at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley Park, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation two hours prior. Entombment and Committal will be at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN.
