William (Bud) McComb 90, of Auburn died Thursday, January 13 at Brightstar Senior Living in Fort Wayne.
He was born June 3, 1931 in Auburn, the son of the late William and Edna McComb.
Bud graduated from McIntosh High School and Indiana University. He was an Army Staff Sergeant and served in the Korean War. Bud worked at Dana Corporation for 19 1/2 years and retired in 1996. He also taught for one year at Antwerp Local School Systems in Ohio. Bud and his late wife Barbara lived in Chandler, Arizona from 1998-2008 where he also worked as a part time security officer at Intel. Bud attended Reform Baptist Church of Auburn and was a member of American Legion Post 296 in Fort Wayne. He enjoyed golf and travel.
He is survived by nieces Cheryl Betz of Auburn and Chris Murrell of Florida and nephews David Cooper and Tod Cooper of Butler; 7 great-grand nieces and nephews; 9 great-great grand nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-great grand nephews. Stepsons William Gallespie Jr. of Auburn and Bruce Gallespie of Texas and stepdaughter Barbara Burkett of Iowa. 4 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother Theodore (Bill) McComb, a sister, Marjorie Cooper, and his wife Barbara of 46 years.
