Susan was born on June 30, 1954 in Coldwater, Michigan to Dale and Wanetta (Merritt) Warring. She married the love of her life, Gary Stroh, on August 7, 1982. She held a master’s degree from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree from Manchester University. She retired from Prairie Heights after working there from 1997 until 2015 teaching art and computer science. Prior to her teaching days, she was the director of scholarship and financial aid and was an assistant dean of students at Tri-State University, now Trine University, for 14 years. From 1982 until 2018, she and her husband, Gary, owned and operated G.W. Stroh Orchards in Angola.
She loved her family and grandchildren and was looking forward to making lots of memories with them in her new home at Glendarin. She enjoyed biking, pickleball, kayaking, water skiing, and cross-country skiing. She was always up for an adventure, whether it was traveling to a new place or trying something new.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Stroh of Angola, IN; daughters Kristy (Nick) Stroh-Green of Noblesville, IN and Stacy Stroh of Elmwood Park, IL, and two grandchildren, Adalyn and Brayden Green. Also surviving are her siblings, Sandra Lindahl-Baird of Elkhart, IN and brother Gary Warring of Lafayette, IN, as well as, brother-in-law David (Sallie) of Angola, IN; nieces and nephew: Carla (Dan) Bollinger, Stephanie (Kip) Whitehead, Heather (Matthew) Hanna, and Brian (Kira) Stroh. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Wanetta Warring, and father-in-law Jack Stroh.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 13th at Fairview Missionary Church, 525 E 200 N in Angola, Indiana. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 12th at Fairview Missionary Church from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Tuesday, July 13th at 10:00 AM, one hour prior to the service.
