Steven Harry Diem, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Peabody Health Care. He was born October 27, 1946 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Harry and Rosemary (Polka) Diem.
Steven was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Luers High School and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 serving his country in the Vietnam War. Steven attended IPFW where he played baseball and studied finance. He later became a Financial Planner serving as a Retirement Specialist.
In his early years Steven was involved with the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Chicago Bears and White Sox and was a big fan of Formula 1 and Indy Car racing. He was big history buff, and he loved to read, especially WWII history. He also enjoyed watching Nick play sports and spent lots of time traveling with his family to watch Nick play baseball. Most of Steven loved to spend time with his wife Diane, daughter Katherine and son Nick.
Steven is survived by his wife, Diane C. (Schaefer) Diem; daughter, Katherine D. Diem; son, Nick S. Diem; grandson, Cooper J. Diem; brother, Tom J. Diem, (wife-Laveta); and sister, Karen (Diem) Marvin, (husband – Edward).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Rosemary Diem; and a sister, Joan B. (Diem) Bollinger.
Funeral services for Steven will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes-Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN with burial following the service in Covington Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
