RUTH CLARA WHITE, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at her home. She was born Feb. 27, 1924 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of the late Clem J. Getty and Dorothia C. Freistroffer. She worked at Lincoln Life Insurance Company and was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Surviving are her two daughters, Joyce (Terry) Holmes of Churubusco, and Carol (Michael) Johnson of Columbia City; two sons, David (Alice) White of Midland, Texas, and James (Jan Weibel) White of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren;Emily, Molly, Jeff, Alan, Jill, Alex and Alyssa and one great-granddaughter; Hailie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard (Bernie) White in 1974. A private service for the family will be held at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home. Burial at Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to The Fort Wayne Firefighters Museum.
