Roy S. Firman

Roy S. Firman, 91, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Utica, NY to the late Horace and Marion (Stevens) Firman. He married Marian A. MacDermott in 1969 and she survives. He worked for Bell Aircraft as an engineer in Niagara Falls until the late 1950’s. He then worked for ITT in Fort Wayne, IN until his retirement. Roy was a lifetime Mizpah Shriner and the Utica, NY Fraternity. He was a talented carpenter, having built his own sail boat and several cribs for his grandchildren. Surviving are his children, Darcy Merriman, Kevin (Sharon) Fralick, Denise (Mike) Marley, and Amber (Mike) Walker; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Roy was also preceded in death by brother, Irving Firman. Funeral service 6:00 pm Thursday, August 8, 2019, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park funeral home, with visitation from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm prior to the service. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Bridgewater, NY.
