Richard Wayne DeHaven, 86, of Fort Wayne, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 8, 2015. Born on November 28, 1928, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Ralph and Mary (nee Meyers) DeHaven. A graduate of Central High School, where he met his wife Millie. In 1986 at the age of 58, he found Christ, was saved and baptized, later becoming a member of Faith Baptist Church, Fort Wayne, with his most beloved verse “The fear of the Lord, is the beginning of knowledge”- Proverbs 1:7
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mildred Mae (nee Evans) DeHaven; children, Jeffrey DeHaven, David (Lori) DeHaven and Karen DeHaven; grandchildren, Stephanie, Brittney, Austin, Madison and Connor; great-grandson, Reece; and many other beloved family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph, Betty and Virginia.
Funeral service will be 1pm, Wednesday, November 11, at Faith Baptist Church, 6600 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Tuesday November 10, at the church. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Faith Baptist Church, Fort Wayne. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
