Patrick William O'Shaughnessy

Patrick William O’Shaughnessy, ended his journey down life’s road June 9, 2012. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 27, 1935 to Nora and James O’Shaughnessy . Mr. O’Shaughnessy was a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana. He was employed by Colgate Palmolive from graduation until retirement. His sales territories took him and his family to Wisconsin, Illinois, North Dakota, Minnesota, New York to retirement in Fort Wayne. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, he enjoyed Pinochle, Poker, Bridge and golf with friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, eldest brother, David O’Shaughnessy and an infant son Patrick Joseph O’Shaughnessy. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Carol Boston O’Shaughnessy, daughter, Susan (Andy) Cyunczyk, of Summerville, South Carolina; son, Patrick (Maryalice), of Mission Viejo, California; son, John (Debra), of Fort Wayne, son David, of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Johnathan, Kellee, Rachel, Griffin and Colin O’Shaughnessy and Victor Cyunczyk; brothers, Thomas, Robert and Donald O’Shaughnessy and nieces and nephews. He fought the Brave and Good fight against a vicious enemy called cancer. In celebration of his life, an Irish Wake will be held at the home where he lived for 42 years on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 6:30pm-9:00pm. Funeral Mass is 9:00am Saturday, June 16, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2120 S. Harrison St. with burial in Catholic Cemetery following Mass.
