Naomi LaRuth Liechty, 86, went home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 2, 2024, at her home in Leo, Indiana. She was born February 2, 1938, in Kiowa County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Ernest Ernie Davis and Verna Elnora (Logan) Davis. LaRuth graduated from Mullinville High School in 1956, and attended Central Bible Institute, Springfield, Missouri, from 1956–1958. LaRuth was involved in the Sunday School ministry many years both as a teacher and as a piano player. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir. An avid seamstress and gardener, she was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and business partner. She was always there when her family and friends needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She lived her life for Jesus in every aspect of her being, and always made sure her children knew they were “loved the most”! LaRuth is survived by her husband, Gordon Liechty, Sr., whom she married on June 27, 1958; son Robin Liechty and wife Roberta of Leo, Indiana; son Gordon Liechty, Jr. and wife Tonya of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter Tammy and husband Dan Whitfield of Katy, Texas; brother Allen Davis and wife Ferrel of Coldwater, Kansas; brother Dewain Davis and wife Jeannie of Winfield Kansas; sister Patricia Baker of Martinsburg, West Virginia; sister Carol Demant and husband Reinhard of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters-in-law Nancy Davis of Kinsley, Kansas, and Shirley Davis of Newark, Delaware; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, brothers Vernon Davis, Gerald Davis, and Wesley Dean Davis. Also surviving are a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral services and celebration of LaRuth’s life will be 11:00 am, Friday, June 14, 2024, at Central Ministries, Leo campus with Pastors Paul C. Paino and John Moser officiating. Burial will follow the ceremony at Leo Cemetery & Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Thursday, June 13 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday, June 14 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Central Ministries. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Samaritan’s Purse or The Ridge Missionary Church of Fort Wayne.
