Mona Sue Windmiller

Mona Sue Windmiller was born on April 22, 1929 in Berne, Indiana, to the late Earl and Pauline (nee…Archibold) Lantz. She entered into eternal rest at the tender age of 93 on Friday, September 2, 2022 while residing at Cedar Ridge of Fort Wayne.

Mona completed her education while living in Berne. Later in life, she moved to Fort Wayne and met George J. Windmiller. They were united in holy matrimony on August 31, 1947. George preceded her in death in 2005, ending their 58 years of togetherness.

Mona loved her family and was a great caretaker of her husband until his passing. She loved cats, knitting, and sewing. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The memories and legacy will continue with her surviving daughter, Debora G. Shipley; sons, Eric J. Windmiller, and Todd E. (LuAnn) Windmiller; a sister, Carol (Dale) Hirschy; grandchildren, Jade Lehman and Lindsay Windmiller; a great-grandchild, Annie Windmiller; and sister-in-law, Jeannie Lantz; as well as other relatives and friends. She is also preceded in death by her grandchild, Shannon Lehman; brother, Rodney Lantz; and son-in-law, Thomas Shipley.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 7 , 2022 at Concordia Gardens Cemetery, 5365 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, with Entombment following. The Rev. Jim Conn will be officiating.
