Mary Ann Koons

Mary Ann Koons, 72, of Spencerville, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital. Born July 23, 1945, in Marysville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Florence (Conner) Schultis. Mary was a wonderful homemaker and member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, for over 20 years. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family to such places as Paynetown and the U.P. in Michigan. She was an avid seamstress and was always making dresses and clothing for her children, especially at Christmas. She cherished her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She is survived by her children, Ken Koons of Indianapolis, Ind., Kathy (Jim) Van Horn of Carthage, Ind., Scott Koons of Indianapolis, Ind., Teresa (Ed) Mullenschlader of Fairview Heights, Ill., Cindy Roller of Troy, Ill., and Steve (DeAnna) Koons of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren, Zac Roller, Hunter Roller, Jake Mullenschlader, Josh Mullenschlader, Brenden Koons, Tyler Koons, Landon Koons, Tanner Koons, and Breana Koons; sister, Margaret (Dick) Scher of Huntington, Ind.; brother, Jim (Diana) Schultis of Albion, Ind., and sisters-in-law, Laura and Amy. She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Koons; brothers, Tom Schultis and Jack Schultis. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Father Mark Gurtner officiating. Calling will also be from 4-8pm on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne.
