Greenlawn Funeral Home
Marc Wayne Heffelfinger, 64, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 8, 2021. Marc was born in 1956 at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA. He was a 1974 graduate of Carroll High School in Fort Wayne.
Marc worked tirelessly his entire life, spending over 30 years with Irmscher Suppliers in Ft. Wayne, where he was a well-respected employee. Marc has been employed by the Community Harvest Food Bank for over 10 years, as well as working for the Ft. Wayne Parks and Recreation Department.
Marc was a die-hard sports fanatic, who loved following, and watching all types of sports, as well as being an avid (highly average) golfer, who loved the game. One of Marc’s greatest joys was watching his son Kris grow up playing hockey. Marc was truly a “rink-rat”, even becoming a Zamboni driver.
Marc’s wonderful sense of humor and personable nature will be missed by his loving family and his many friends and co-workers.
Marc is survived by Tammy (Mathieson) Heffelfinger, his devoted wife of 37 years; his son Kris Heffelfinger, and step-son Corey Baumgartner (Michelle); his parents Bonnie (Schnepp) & Richard Heffelfinger; sisters Michelle Everson (Bruce) and Jill Kacer (Kevin); as well as his 6 adoring grandchildren; his aunt Shirley Underwood; sisters-in-law Sharise Mathieson, Patti Scott (Jay), and Jan Mathieson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Ft. Wayne, on June 5th, 2021 from noon to 2:30. Graveside services will be 2:30 to 3:00. Memorials to Foellinger-Friemann Botanical Conservatory, Fort Wayne, IN.
