Lillian Mae Gold, 91, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was born on December 12, 1931 in Pine Bluff, AR. She was the daughter of Ella L. Mathis and the oldest of two children. Lillian was called home to Glory surrounded by her loved ones on August 17, 2023. Lillian relocated to Fort Wayne from Pine Bluff as a teenager, she accepted Christ at an early age and became a long-time member of Union Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Clyde Adams, current pastor Rev. Dr. Timothy Lake, where she served as an active member of the Usher Board and other ministries. Lillian was a graduate of Central High School. Her career began at Fort Wayne State Developmental Center where she dutifully served 20 years of service. Following retirement, she worked as a Teacher’s Assistant and Crossing Guard for FWCS for an additional 7 years. Lillian loved and adored her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed spending time with them. She had numerous friends and was lovingly known by many as “Gold or Goldie”. Lillian was a gentle soul blessed with the gift of a kind spirit. She was a great mom who set a great example as a parent for her children; she laid the foundation to love everyone regardless of their race or background. In her past leisure time, she was a long time devoted and skilled bowler and had a love for playing cards; she enjoyed laughing and having a good time with her family and friends. Lillian’s precious memories will be cherished by her children, Brenda Gold-Detroit, MI; Marsha (Terry Milton) Gold-King, Joey Gold, Fort Wayne, IN. Seventeen grandchildren: Tonya Gold-Gwynn Oak, MD; N’Gai Gold-Detroit, MI; MarShayla Thompson-Dallas, Tx; Jalynn King; Joel Ewing; J’Onna Easterly; Elleanah Jones; Earl Richard-Fort Wayne; Destiny Gold; Montana Richard; Asia Richard; Cruz Richard; Josiah Richard-Fort Wayne; Cyrus Richard; Elias Richard; Zion Richard; June Richard-Las Vegas, NV., and nineteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Lillian was preceded in death by her mother, Ella L. Mathis, daughter, Diane M.
