Lenora "June" Meads, 100, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024. June was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 20, 1924, a daughter of the late Robert and Helen Moyer. She graduated from Lutheran School of Nursing and was a registered nurse at St. Catherine Catholic Hospital for over 25 years. June was a lifetime church member most recently at Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, tennis, bicycling, camping, and nature in general. June is survived by her daughters, Janice Meads, Jean Adkins, and Joyce Reel; grandchildren, Angela Singleton, Brian Mayden, and Christopher (Lynn) Mayden; seven step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; eight step great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Buuck. She was also preceded in passing by her husband, Howard Meads; brother, Harold Moyer; and sons-in-law, Howard Adkins and Wayne Reel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial to follow the service at Covington Memorial Gardens. Contributions in Lenora's memory may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church.
