Lance Corporal Owen A. Krider

Lance Corporal Owen A. Krider, 21, passed away on September 11, 2022, at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He was born March 30, 2001, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Michelle J. Krider and Matthew A. Krider. Owen graduated from Carroll High School in 2019, where he spent many of his after-school hours at wrestling practice preparing for the next competition. He was always the goofy one—whether at practice, out with his friends, or at home—that made everyone laugh. Owen was known by family and friends alike as one of the most selfless, hardworking, and loving persons they had ever met, and anyone would have been grateful to have had him in their life. Owen’s true passion was spending time with his daughter and being the best father possible. After graduation, Owen made his way into the military, becoming a proud member of the United States Marine Corp. Surviving are his mother, Michelle J. Krider of Huntertown, IN; father, Matthew A. Krider of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Serafina D. Krider; sisters, Kennedy Krider of Fort Wayne, IN; Emerson Krider of Huntertown, IN; maternal grandparents, Howard & Marsha Ester of Fort Wayne IN; paternal grandparents, Leslie and Sharon Krider of Naples, Fl; Cindy and Curt Orr of Columbia City, IN; great-grandparents, Del & Genny Robinson of Columbia City, IN; aunts, Robin (Paul) Mulvaney of Winnetka, IL, Tami Ester of Fort Wayne, IN; cousins, Brittani and Brady Ester, Chase and Connor Mulvaney; and nephews, Remington & Jameson Cobb. Owen was preceded in death by his uncle, Michael Ester; and great-grandparents, Richard and Joan Krider. A funeral service to honor the life and legacy of Lance Corporal Krider will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Pathway Community Church, 1010 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am, two hours prior to the service. A visitation will also take place on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne.
