Karen Carole (Freiburger) Griffith

Karen Carole (Freiburger) Griffith, age 80, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Tavares, Florida passed away on December 30th, 2022 surrounded by her family. Karen was born January 22, 1942 in Fort Wayne, to Walter and Velma Freiburger. Karen graduated from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, and later pursued a dedicated career in nursing. Karen and Bill married on April 22, 1961 in Fort Wayne. Karen and Bill began wintering in Tavares, Florida in 1995 where they made themselves a forever home in 1997. Karen and Bill enjoyed traveling together to see their family and friends all over the United States as well as enjoying time aboard cruise ships. Karen also enjoyed playing cards, dominos and spending time on their pontoon. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Velma; brother, Walter Jr.; sisters, Beverly and MaryAnn; grandson, Jay Lee Griffith; and fur baby, Rex. Karen is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Julie (Jim) Resac; son, Jay (DiAnn) Griffith; grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Griffith, Roseann (Nathan) Biddle, Robyn Griffith, Diana Resac, Nicholle (Marc) Hayton; as well as many great grandchildren. Memorial service will be 11:00 am on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10:00 am.
