June Alice Anderson

She was born on June 14, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio to Helen and Ernst Jones. June married her high-school sweetheart, Richard Anderson on July 11, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio. They happily shared 64 years together until his passing on November 3, 2023.

A devoted Registered Nurse, June graduated from Mount Sinai Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. Her warmth, laughter, and joy touched countless lives. She was always willing to offer encouraging advice and guidance. June and her late husband, Dick were faithful servants of our Lord Jesus Christ. Participating in singing hymnals, playing the keyboard, and listening to sermons were some of her favorite leisure activities shared with her husband. In her free time, she delighted in traveling to new places, antique shopping, museum visits, culinary experimentation, and crocheting personalized blankets for her loved ones.

She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to four children, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Connie Sarnie; son-in-law, George Sarnie; daughter, Becky Thompson; late son-in-law, Larry Thompson; daughter, Carole McGrath; son-in-law, Brian McGrath; and son, Richard Anderson Jr.

She had 3 sisters, Diane Rule (late), Katheryn Neige (late) and Karen Biddle.

Committal and Burial service will be 10:00 am Friday, November 8, 2024, at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 East 38th Street Marion, IN 46953.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Samaritan Purse or Coventry Baptist Church.
