Joseph Allen Liechty, 75, passed away November 1, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. He was born December 23, 1947, in Berne, Indiana, the son of James Earl and Carol Liechty. He graduated from Berne French High School in 1965.

Joseph was a lumber salesman at Wayndale Lumber Company for 34 years and after retirement he joined his son in his construction business, working for Bolder Built Home Inc. for 18 years.
He enjoyed spending time with the family, loved the lake, enjoyed working in his yard, polishing his vehicle and watching his grandkids sports activities. His grandkids will remember the special times they shared together, especially the weekly trips for ice cream. He absolutely loved spending time with his brothers, but he and his identical twin had a special bond for sure!
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rebecca Ann Liechty of Hudson, Indiana; son Jim Liechty, daughter Jennifer Bertels both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, grandchildren, Jackson and Madison Bertels; brother Ryan (Kelly) Liechty of Richland, Washington; twin brother, John (Marsha) Liechty of Auburn, Indiana; Randy (Sue) Liechty of Elk Grove, Wisconsin.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Pathway Community Church 1010 Carroll Road Fort Wayne, Indiana with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, Indiana.
