John D. Gomez, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Born September 20, 1946 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Melquiadez and Teresa (Gonzales) Gomez.
John served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
John is survived by his children, Kristin, Jason (Jenny), and Steven; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 11 brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pat, of 49 years.
A service will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1:30 PM at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home (1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne), with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines will be in place. Burial to take place in Lindenwood Cemetery.
