James J. Warnick Jr., 65, of Hoagland, Ind., passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Parkview Memorial Hospital. Born November, 21, 1952 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late James J. Sr. and Edna (Cartwright) Warnick. James was president of United Steelworkers, Local 713, in Decatur, Ind., and was employed with Decatur Casting for 10 years, from 1981 to 1991. Most recently, he was a supervisor with Homeland Security and had also worked in carpentry and construction over the years. His passion was riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Martz) Warnick of Hoagland; sons, Jamie Warnick and Michael (Renee Borton) Warnick, both of Hoagland; grandson, Harley Warnick; and sister, Candy (Jerry) Ruch of Connersville, Ind. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Warnick; and sister-in-law, Vickie Warnick. Per James's request, there will be no services.
