Helen Eileen White

Helen Eileen White, 95, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Cairo, OH to the late Harry and Lois (McCarty) Wright. She married Joy Reid “J.R.” White on December 27, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2012. Helen was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Peru, IN. She was a homemaker her entire life and enjoyed traveling and golfing with her husband for 66 years. Helen and J.R. retired to Cincinnati, OH and were avid Cincinnati Reds fans, having had season tickets for 23 years and three world championships. Her hobbies included, cooking, sewing, reading and crocheting. Surviving are her children, James (Mary) White, Nancy (Phil) Keppel and John (Cheryl) White; grandchildren, Tony White, Ellen White, Julie (Chris) Mcdonaugh, Corey (Anita) Keppel, Carey Keppel, and Jill White; great-grandchildren, Adam Cochran, Cleo (Nate) Coleman, Jacob Cochran, Brenna Keppel, Thomson Keppel, Maddie Mcdonaugh and Andrew Mcdonaugh; and brother, Roy (Marilyn) Wright. Helen is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cammie Walburn; and siblings, Betty Zurfluh, Dewey Wright and Eunice Copus. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1:00pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery in Roanoke, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
