My husband, Kevin, and I knew Gary and his lovely family while renting their family home on Coldwater Road from 2010 to 2011.  I just learned of his passing today and wish to send my condolences to his family.  I have fond memories of pulling weeds, painting, killing wasps, planting flowers, and basking in the smiles and friendship he offered us during a difficult time.  A lovely man.

I first knew of Dr.Pulfer when he treated my Grandma. His office was on Anthony at Lake Ave!!! I became a patient of Dr Pulfer sometime after that. I had had a VERY bad experience with my former dentist. He had a way on making you SO comfortable!! He always said..."Now if it hurts...you tell me!!" I will never forget his pompadour of WHITE hair and a smile that lit up the room and this WHOLE side of Ft Wayne!!!  My Daughter with Aspergers when to him too....he made here very confident that nothing bad would happen!.   I know  the anniversary of his death is this month. I just learned of his passing. Sending prayers to ALL who knew him....especially the family! Thank you for sharing him with his patients!!

My wife, Julie and I were looking for a dentist after moving to Indiana in the late 80's. For years, Dr. Gary took such great care of our oral health and was a blessing. His kind heart extended beyond the dentist chair as he generously supported a fundraiser at our children's school.

We pray that God will continue to bless Dr. Brad and his staff as well as provide peace, comfort and fond memories to Dr. Gary's family and friends.

Simply one of the best!  Dr. Pulfer was exceptional in his profession- a perfectionist in his field. For 45 years he was a part of my routine care and always carried a bright smile and genuine care. He was a gem and will be greatly missed. Please accept our condolences to his family and staff.

My deepest sympathies.  Dr. Pulfer was my dentist for 40 years.  I first met him when I was 17.  Both my children and my husband became lifelong patients.  He and Gloria made quite the team for many years.  I remember watching his children grow and get married based on the pictures in his waiting room wall.  Such a wonderful caring Dr. and he will be very missed.  God Bless you all.

Dr. Pulfer was my dentist for nearly 20 years. He always was friendly, taking interest in my work as a seminary professor and he was genuinely interested in my work overseas. I will miss having him as my dentist. I appreciated both his professionalism and his humanity. Blessed be his memory. 

I just learned of Dr Pulfers passing and am deeply saddened by it.  He was a wonderful person, and an excellent dentist.  I was a patient of his for many years .  He was gentle and caring .  My condolences to the family. 

My Deepest Condolences To Dr. Pulfer's family and friends. I was a patient of Dr. Pulfer's years ago and even though I didn't really know him Dr. Pulfer was the nicest, most gentle dentist I have ever met!! You just felt so comfortable and he made you feel at ease with his calm nature.

I was very sad to hear of Dr. Pulfer's passing. He was my first dentist and by far the best one I've had. He was truly gifted and passionate about his practice. He will be missed by so many. Deepest condolences to family and friends.

Dr. Pulfer was my dentist for over 30 years.  He always had a smile, kind words, and met dental challenges like an artisan.  I was very grateful for him and his work.  May he walk with God now.

We were one of the first of his patients back in the early 70s.  Not only was Dr. Pulfer the best dentist in the whole wide world,but he was such a kind and gentle man.  We extend our deepest sympathies to his family but you should take comfort in knowing that God has gained an angel, and he will be there to welcome you when you come. Gary Pulfer was our dentist for 38 years.  He was such a great dentist, so skilled, kind and compassionate.  We had total confidence in him.  We were sad when he retired and now feel such a loss.  I was also fortunate to meet Carol at a women’s study and she’s so sincere, warm and caring.  We are truly blessed to have met them both.  Sending our endearment and compassion for the Pulfer family and loved ones upward in our prayers.

I will truly miss Dr. Pulfer.  He was my employer for 34yrs. He was a wonderful man with such a passion for his family and Dentistry. He was such a gentle dentist and truly cared about each and every one of his patients. He provided the best dentistry he possibly could. 
As a employer Dr. Pulfer had several employees. He had several employees that had been with him many years.  On a personal note. Dr. Pulfer took a chance on me. We worked countless hours just training. At times I thought I was never going home. When I  look back on it now I am very grateful. Because of Dr. Pulfer I had a wonderful career. 
     Dr. Pulfer not only built a practice he built a legacy!
     I truly respected him. I will see you again Doctor.   My sincere condolences to the family.  I am praying for all of you. 


Gary was able to keep teeth in my mouth by thinking outside the box as I was not your average patient.  I am mourning my teeth and Dr. Pulfer .  Mere words and stories cannot describe this family.  Talented and humble each and every one of them.  My family was blessed to be counted as not just a part of their church family but part of their family.  Gary knew when I hid my mouth from him at church I was in trouble.  Gary and Carol loved the whole person even as we struggled with life, kids and being imperfect. Thinking of pleasant memories. Remembering the fish tank as a youngster that Dr. Gary had in his dental office on North Anthony dental office. Doctor always had a special smile and gentleness. Many wonderful memories of church and youth event so graciously provided at residence. Always provided selfless special activities. Thank You to such a special man and special family. I and my family have all been patients of Dr. and  know that he was 
a wonderful, caring, gentle, professional , and generous dentist. He
always inquired about my family and enjoyed giving  me the news on

Growing up , Dr's family farm was next to our home. He was always on
a big green John Deere tractor in the fields or riding a beautiful big brown
horse, but never to busy to  wave and flash that wonderful smile!

We began going to Dr. Pulfer when he first opened his office on North Anthony, his first child had not arrived yet.  He was an exceptional dentist, always reassuring, gentle, there when needed.  May God be with his family in the days ahead to bring them comfort.  With deepest sympathy in your loss.


Gary's family was neighbors, he was a friend and my dentist for many years. He was always so soft spoken and kind. Played and later hunted on his parents property until i moved to ohio in 2010. I took many deer off that property. And i was just telling a friend of his gentle touch as a dentist. He could give a shot in the mouth and you would not feel it.  My condolences to the the family.

Words cannot describe how sorry I am hearing of Dr. Pulfers passing. He was my dentist for 35 years, more than that I considered him a friend.  He laughed at every dumb joke I told him while sitting in the chair even when half of my face was sagging.  My first visit I looked him square in the eye and said if he hurt me, I wouldn't pay him.  Took him a minute to stop giggling but true to his word, didn't feel a thing. Called him painless Pulfer from then on and he always smiled.  My heart goes out to entire family and staff of Pulfer Dentistry.  Dr. Pulfer was one of a kind and will be missed more than I can say. 

My husband Mark and I and my mother were all patients of Dr. Pulfur.  He helped my husband, Mark get a Mickey painted on one of his crowns.  Mark was a big Mickey Mouse fan.  Dr. Gary was very considerate at the time of Mark's passing.  Most of all I remember his patience with my mother who had dementia.   His welcoming smile and caring attitude will be truly missed.  God grant you his peace and strength during the days ahead.

Gary has been my friend, my brother in law and a person I have respected and loved for over 50 years'. I will miss him and our conversations we always had. Always smiling and cheerfull He has a truly beautiful wife and family. I have always looked up to Gary for being a very hard working man and having time for his family and friends. Our family is sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Gary Pulfer. My husband, Glen, and myself saw him as our dentist from the time we moved to Fort Wayne.  He was always kind and gentle.  When I went to his office for dental care he always asked about the family.  I too enjoyed the pictures of the family in the front room.   It  was fun to see when when there was an addition to the family.  He will be missed.  I pray for  God's comfort for Carol and the rest of the family.  It is painful to loose a loved one, particularly a spouse.   Our daughter Elizabeth also saw him as her dentist when she lived in Fort Wayne. She missed his gentle manner when went to a different dentist because she had moved away.

I believe I have been a patient of Dr. Pulfer's since he first began, on Anthony Blvd.  I was shocked to hear this news... I will miss him so much, to my knowledge, he was the only Dentist in Fort Wayne who could give you a shot without any pain.  Trusting someone with your health is not an easy thing, but he certainly made it easy, always straight forward, able to assist and provide you with great options and advice...  This is such sad news.  My Condolences to the Family.... your loved one will always have a special place in my heart for all that he did for me!  Thank you for sharing his skills and kindness!

Dr. Gary has always been a blessing to me.  Giving me advice when I needed it.  Always there for all of us .  I loved his heart. I loved getting him to smile or chuckle.  It breaks my heart that he is not with us any longer.  But I know we will see him again soon.  In Christ we are family.

Dr. Pulfer was so kind and gentle. I was terrified of the dentist before I went to him. Thankful to have been a patient of his. He will truly be missed.

I have been going to Dr. Pulfer sense his office was over on Anthony and Lake.  He always had a smile and a friendly hello.  Thanks to him and his staff I still have my own teeth at the age of 78.  Will miss seeing those blue eyes when having dental work done .  To his family and love ones my prayers go out to you.  Sooooooooo sorry for your loss.
