Esther “Betty” McGuigan, passed away, Tuesday, July 26, 2011. She was born on December 22, 1917 in Bloomington, IN to the late Harry and Mary (Coffey) Coyle. She worked as a Paralegal for Logan & Stier for 20 years. She was a member at St. Therese Catholic Church, Eagles Post #248 Women’s Auxiliary, and the Women’s Bowling Association. She enjoyed reading, bowling, sewing, and crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as the greatest mom on Earth!
Surviving family include her children, Patsy Smith of Rio Vista, CA, David (Nannette) McGuigan of Centennial, CO, Matthew J. (Nancy) McGuigan of New Haven, Jeannine (Norman) Wildey of Fort Wayne, Antonette “Toni” (Lelan) Poppy of Asheville, N.C., Kevin (Carol) McGuigan of Fort Wayne, Michael (Cheryl) McGuigan Indianapolis, Kyle Ann (Stephen) Dever of Fort Wayne; brother, Jim Coyle; 27 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew D. McGuigan in 2002 and a grandson, Christopher.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne with visiting a half hour prior to services. Visitation will also be from 4-7 pm on Friday, July 29, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. A rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Friday.
Memorials may be made to Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center, New Hope Hospice, American Alzheimer’s Association.
Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery.
