Elizabeth Kathryn Richards

Elizabeth Kathryn Richards, 100, of Huntertown, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Born December 18, 1922 in the Leo-Cedarville area, she was the oldest of four children born to Eli and Hattie Yoder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and brothers, Olan Yoder, Wayne Yoder, and her sister, Maxine Fry. She worked at GE in Fort Wayne during the 1940's, then as a housewife and mother for most of her earlier years. She worked for several years at the Fort Wayne School Food Commissary. She dedicated her life to serving others mostly through her church (Bethel Methodist Church) crocheting blankets for the woman's shelter. Her hobbies were crocheting, quilting, arranging and growing flowers. Family and friends loved her cooking, especially her homemade noodles that were on every holiday table. Surviving are her son, Thomas and his wife Kathy. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Matthew (Becca), Mark (Robyn), Miles (Becca), Marcella (Kory) Klosterman; and nine great grandchildren, Charlie, Tristan, Claire, Evie, Julia, Madeline, Grace, Graham, and Griffin. She had a loving and kind-hearted nurturing spirit, always helping those in need and doting on babies, equally mixed with a fun loving zest for practical jokes on those closest to her. She will always be remembered for her sweet smile and infectious laugh. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 8405 Lima Rd, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Huntertown Cemetery, Huntertown.
