Edward Hopkins III

Edward Hopkins III, was age 81 when he passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Parkview Randallia Hospital. He was a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born a son of the late Edward and Lena (nee.Jordan) Hopkins, Jr.

After high school he entered the United States Air Force and served honorably for 30 years. Ed as he was known by many was a member of Union Baptist Church and also retired from the Allen County Sheriff's Department after many years of service as a Communications Service Technician.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Cornell Hopkins; and a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Hopkins.

Ed is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Brenda Hopkins; a daughter, Karen Hopkins-Martin; sons, Kim (Sylvia) Hopkins and Keith Hopkins; brothers, Steven (Carolyn), Kevin Hopkins; a sister, Bridgett (Reginald) Hill, and brother, Rev. Gary (Renita) Hopkins; seven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; best buddy, Karter Martin; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Celebrating Ed's Life will be 11:00 am Friday, June 21, 2024 at Union Baptist Church 2200 Smith Street (46803) with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Concordia Gardens Cemetery.
