Dorothy Louise Ehresmann

DOROTHY L. EHRESMANN, 87, passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2015. Born May 11, 1928, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of late Herman and Louise Lunz. Dorothy graduated from Elmhurst High School, class of 1946. She worked at Fort Wayne City Utilities and then Lutheran Hospital, where she continued volunteering for over 20 years after she retired. She served on the board of Lutheran Health Services and was a life-long member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are her children, Barbara (Daniel) Harber of Columbia City, Dale (Elaine) Roesener of Las Vegas, Perry (Karen) Ehresmann of Wolcottville, Chris (Mike) Gibson of Fort Wayne, Sheila (Ed) Mertens of Wolcottville, and Rod Ehresmann of Muncie; sisters, Ruth Mutton and Margaret Tryznka; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Walter Roesener, in 1964, and Norman Ehresmann, 2005; brothers, Herb, Eddie, Albert and Donald Lunz; and grandson, Christian Ehres-mann. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, West Jefferson Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Visiting Nurse Hospice Home.
