Dennis M. Smith

Dennis M. Smith, 75, passed away on December, 30, 2021. He was born September 30, 1946, to Francis and Rose Smith who preceded him in death. Dennis was proud to serve his country in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in May of 1968. He was employed as a Systems Operator at Frontier Communications. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Connie (Francies) Smith; two children, Jennifer (Howard) Arnold, and Christopher Smith; one granddaughter Kayla (Brent) Johnson; one great-grandson, Harvey Walker Johnson; sisters, Margaret (Laverne) Willie, Cecelia (Steve) Neylon, and Nancy (John) Baca; and one brother, Patrick (David) Foster. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Smith; brothers, John Smith and Joe Carnie. A funeral service to honor his memory will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. A visitation will also take place from 3:00 to 5:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Covington Memorial Gardens.
