Dean E. Cartwright

Dean Eugene Cartwright was born February 24, 1959 in Fort Wayne, IN was was the first son of Larry and Beverly (Walda) Cartwright. He departed this life on January 27, 2023 at Holden Manor Nursing & Rehab Home. Dean as a young child enjoyed hanging out with his brothers and going fishing with his Dad. He loved watching baseball and football. Dean attended a school in Fort Wayne for special needs students. Dean worked at the Easter Seals ARC facility in his younger days and the last year of his life worked at the Casco Workshop for handicap in Missouri. Dean always quoted this motto taken from his dad “Work hard, make money”. Dean was always on the lookout for a big buck, he would sit on the deck watching for hours hoping to see them. The last year of his life he made a lot of new friends and never met anyone that didn’t simply love his hugs and his big smile. Dean is survived by his brothers David Cartwright (Diana) , Rick Cartwright (Lisa); as well as his nephews Ricky Cartwright Jr, Ryan Cartwright (Rachel), Randy Cartwright (Savanna). Dean had 8 great nieces and 5 great nephews that meant the world to him. The family will receive friends Wednesday February 8, 2023 at the DO McCombs, Covington Knolls from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The funeral will be held Thursday February 9, 2023 at the DO McCombs, Covington Knolls at 10:00 am with burial in the Lindenwood Cemetery to follow. Memorial contributions can be made out to the Creighton Volunteer Fire Department as Dean participated in events with the department during his time in Missouri and the they can be left in care of DO McCombs.
