CRAIG D. BAIR, 50, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, in Fort Wayne. Without warning, he required medical attention and fought tirelessly with the help of the Parkview Regional Medical Center staff and the encouragement of his wife and children close by. After an extensive effort from all, he took his last breath at 10:57 a.m. Craig was born on Nov. 12, 1971, in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Northrop High School in 1990 and met his wife and soulmate of 28 years, Kim Bair in 8th grade. Craig enjoyed his life with his family in many ways including cruising on the pontoon and singing around the bonfire at Crooked Lake, bowling, cards, and Komet games with his family and friends, gardening, and frequent family vacations. Craig enjoyed partnering with Jamie Bonecutter managing BairBone Inc. for many years. He took great pride in each unique project he designed, building lasting friendships with each client they assisted along the way. Craig was a well-known handy-man, grill master, problem-solver, and father figure to countless individuals. He knew no strangers. He touched the hearts of every single person he encountered. Craig is survived by his wife and best friend, Kim Bair; son, Justin (Jasmyn) Bair; daughter, Kelsey (Logan Capps) Bair; daughter, Makenna Bair; brother, Mark Bair; and sister, Samantha Bair. Craig is also survived by his parents, Tom (Shelly) Bair; mother-in-law, Vera Wenger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Linda Brager, Betty (Ernie) Edgar, Bonnie Clevenger, David (Diane) Wenger, and Danny Wenger; 23 nieces and nephews; and 18 great nieces and great nephews. Craig was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Wenger; sister-in-law, Tricia Bair; brothers-in-law, John Clevenger and Ed Brager. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior.
Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at the funeral home.
