Charlotte "Charlie" Irene Brown

Charlotte (Charlie) I. Brown of Fort Wayne, IN passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at the age of 89. She was born on December 10, 1934, in Fort Wayne to Clarence A. Buck and Helen Lucille (Greene) Buck. Charlotte attended Northside High School, met and married Olin M. Brown on September 15, 1952 in Bronson, Ml. At the age of 10 years old, she was baptized and became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne, where she was an active member until she transferred to Plato United Methodist in 1989. When her children were young, she was a Girl Scout leader. After the kids were in school she began working at Waterfield Mortgage Co., and then worked several years at Weatherhead/Dana in the office and later as secretary to the plant manager. Charlotte also dedicated a lot of time and was a member of Phi Beta Psi Charitable Sorority where she was National Treasurer for a time. She and her husband took many trips across the country going to National Phi Beta Psi Conventions. Charlie loved getting together with family and loved being around people. She would help out anyway she could for anyone in need of help, and shared her faith with others. She loved to sew and spent many hours sewing wheelchair blankets for residents in her senior apartments. She is survived by her three children, Carolyn S. McNeill, Olinda K. Kline and husband Michael Kline, and Dean A. Brown and wife Linda Brown; her two grandchildren, Pamela S. McNeill and Michelle L. Kuhlhorst and husband Paul Kuhlhorst; and two great grandchildren, Isaac and Elle Kuhlhorst. Charlie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia M. Partenhedimer; husband, Olin M. Brown; son-in-law, Roger M. McNeill; and grandson Michael B. Kline II. Service will be held 1:00 pm Friday August 23, 2024, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Homes, 1320 E. Dupont Road Fort Wayne, IN with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday August 22, 2024, at the funeral home. Entombment at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or Cancer Services of NE Indiana.
