Carol M. Warner was the daughter of Morris and Cleo Ream. She grew up on the family farm, just outside of Cedarville, Indiana. Graduating from Leo High School she studied at the Fort Wayne Business College. She met her husband, Donald, at a Christmas Party in December of 1952. They were married on May 10, 1953. They had two children, David and Cathy. Their family enjoyed many vacations exploring the United States. Colorado was a favorite destination.
Carol was a life-long resident of Fort Wayne who served her community with a generous spirit. Parkview Memorial Hospital recognized her as a volunteer with over 50 years of service. She volunteered as a driver for the American Cancer Society for over 30 years. Carol enjoyed serving people in need through the Fort Wayne Christmas Bureau and the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. She also volunteered at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and the American Red Cross. Carol and Don were also generous supporters of Manchester College, United Theological Seminary, and the Epworth Forest Conference Center of the United Methodist Church in north Indiana.
Committed to serving Christ and her community, Carol served as the president of Church Women United and held many leadership roles with United Methodist Women. She was an active member of Church of the Covenant United Methodist Church.
Carol believed that each day God gave us the opportunity to do something to bless another person’s life. She was committed to maintaining relationships and enjoyed staying in touch with life-long friends and family members. In the last season of her life she was a resident of The Cedars in Leo, Indiana. Carol is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Doug) Johns of Cincinnati, OH; brother Jerry (Diana) Ream, two grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Rosa and Blake (Jessica) Johns, and Emmy Rosa, great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Warner and David Warner, son. Private committal will be held at Highland Park Cemetery.
