BETTY "JEAN" PARKER SARK, 91, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 at Woodview Healthcare, Fort Wayne. Born Sept. 20, 1922 in Hillsdale County, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late W. W. "Bill" and Linnie Ann (Laub) Parker, Fort Wayne. Jean graduated from North Side High School in 1940. She married Leslie Sark in 1942; he died in 1953. She was a secretary with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 27 years, retiring in 1988. Twelve of those years were spent at Elmhurst High School. She worked nine years at Lutheran Hospital information desk and volunteered with RSVP. She was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church (formerly North Highlands Presbyterian Church). She loved I.U. basketball and was an outstanding cook. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy (John) Current; two sons, Bill Sark of Auburn, and Kevin (Donna) Sark of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Parker of Little Rock, Ark. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lois Sievers and Doris Gepfert Libbing; and brother, Max Parker; grandchildren, Stephanie Sark and Tyler Sark. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1811 Fairhill Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Chris Kirwan officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 420 W. Wayne St. Burial in Eel River Cemetery, Allen County. Memorials to Grace Presbyterian Church.
