Andrew L. Mansfield, a devoted father, son, and friend, passed away at the age of 38 on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Andrew was born on March 20, 1985, in Defiance, Ohio, to Leona Merchant, Gale Mansfield, and Bertha and Stan Shipe, who all survive him.
Andrew built a successful career at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions in Fort Wayne, where he worked diligently and became a valued employee. He will be dearly missed by his colleagues and friends.
Andrew is survived by his loving daughters, Lillian Mansfield, Alexis Shipe, Maddie Howard; his son, Ransen Howard; his sister, Jennifer Wilson; brother-in-law, Dan Wilson; grandmother Ina Mansfield; aunts, Charlene Miller (spouse, Gordon), Debbie Marchant, Michelle Marchant, Lisa Klenk (spouse, Phillip), Debbie Mansfield, Laura Shaw (spouse, Jim); uncle, David Marchant (spouse, Karissa) ; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Marchant, Leona Kirksey, and Gail Mansfield; and relatives, Colette Ogden, Henry Miller, Olive Elston, and Conrad Mansfield.
Andrew's greatest joy in life was being a father to Alexis, Ransen, Maddie, and his most cherished daughter, Lilly. His love for his children was unparalleled, and he adored every moment spent with them.
A true outdoorsman, Andrew reveled in spending time with his family, swimming in the pool at his parents' home, and exploring nature through kayaking, bicycling, hiking, and dirt biking. His Texas and Ohio roots grounded him and contributed to his adventurous spirit.
A Celebration of Andy's Life will be held on Sunday, May 14, 2023, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
Andrew's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and his spirit will continue to inspire them to embrace life's adventures.
