Robert McClain went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2023. Robert was born in Fort Smith, AR June 27, 1943, He was 80 years old. Robert was retired from Planters. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War and retired from the Air National Guard. He was a member of the Harris-Hannah VFW Post 6527 in Greenwood. Robert was a Freemason, having dual memberships in both Belle Point Lodge #20 and Jenny Lind Lodge # 503.
He is survived by one son, Jonathan McClain (Colleen) of Rogers; three brothers, Herbert McClain of Greenwood, Don Rush of Greenwood and Gerald McClain of Portland, OR; four sisters, Brenda Davenport of Fort Smith, Norma Minton (Jim) of West Frankford, IL and Jo Ann Taylor of Greenwood and Donna Brenner of Portland, OR, along with two granddaughters, Samantha McClain and Stephanie McClain. He is preceded in death by a son, Chad McClain and an older brother, J.W. Rush.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Edwards Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 11:30 am Monday, July 24, 2023 at Courage to Change Church with Pastor DeWayne Hicks officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 pm at the Fort Smith National Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers will be John Taylor, Richie Cagle, Jay Garnes, Caden Taylor, Ethan Cagle and Payton Cagle.
