Randall Lee Gunter was 71, of Fort Smith Arkansas passed peacefully at home on Tuesday November 8, 2022 in Fort Smith. Randy was born December 23, 1950 in Fort Smith Arkansas to Leonard and Martha (Hayes) Gunter. He worked in the electrical wholesale business for 46 years and retired in 2017. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, and his son-in-law Stephen Medley.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Sherry of the home, one son Matthew Gunter or Fayetteville Arkansas, one daughter Amanda and Christiaan Post of Phoenix Arizona, one grandson Joshua Medley of Fort Smith Arkansas, two brothers Tim Gunter and Gary and Martha Gunter of Fort Smith, one niece Janet Gunter of Fort Smith, and many numerous relatives and beloved friends.
Randy enjoyed canoeing and skiing with the “Buffalo Buzzard” group and made many lifelong friends. He was also an avid flyer and spent many years piloting his 1942 Cessna 170 for business and pleasure. During his retirement, he and Sherry went on several motorcycle trips across the country, enjoying the sights and both the people that were with them and the ones they met along the way.
Services are 2pm Monday November 14, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel Fort Smith Arkansas. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola, Oklahoma. Pallbearers are Gary Gunter, Tim Gunter, Rick Williams, Randy Williams, David Williams, and Daniel Williams.
Family will greet friends from 2pm to 4pm Sunday, November 13, 2022 at the funeral home.
