Phillip Lewis, 90, of Fort Smith, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was born on November 12, 1930 in Franklin County, AR to the late Herbert C. and Eliza Lewis. Phillip retired from Southside High School where he was the Head Guidance Counselor for several years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, he was also an ordained Baptist minister. Phillip was regarded as the patriarch of his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nina Lewis and a son, Glenn Lewis.
Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Woodlawn Memorial Park, masks are required at the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Lewis of Little Rock; two sisters, Janie Lewis and Mary Wakefield of Fort Smith, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Public viewing will be from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
