Mildred L. "Mimi" Carter

Mildred L. “Mimi” Carter, 84 of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in Fort Smith. She was born March 14, 1927 in Fort Smith to the late James Johns and Ruby Holloway Johns. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband John W. Carter as well as her grandson David Wayne Carter and a daughter-in-law Mary L. Carter.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, August 19th at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

She is survived by five children: Beverly Housewirth and her husband Lee of Fort Smith, David W. Carter of Fort Smith, Don Carter and his wife Kim of Van Buren, Randy Carter and his wife Barbara of North Little Rock, and John W. Carter and his wife Jomie of Alma. She is also survived by her sister Ruby Howard and her husband Earl of Fayetteville and her brother Charlie Johns and his wife Marian of Plano, TX. Mimi is also survived 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday, August 18th at the funeral home.
