Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her Husband Ralph Riley.
She leaves behind a brother, John Fisher and wife Judy of Alma, a son, Tony and wife Angie of Mountainburg, Ar. Two grandsons, Joseph Rupp of Mountainburg, and William Rupp of Rudy, Arkansas, a granddaughter, Jacquelynn Rupp who resides in Lakeview, Arkansas. Two great granddaughters, Willa and Opal Rupp of Mountainburg. Nephew, Clayton Fisher, wife Samantha and their children Ember Nolan and Ellie of Fort Smith. Niece Shanyn (Fisher) Dedmon, her husband Justin and children River Lee, Mason and Lexi of Greenwood, AR. Extended family members, Donna (Riley) Starr, Crossville, Tennessee, Kathy (Riley) Brosi, Orlando, Florida and Kerry Riley, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Grandson, David Riley, Bend, Oregon, Granddaughter, Heather Brosi, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Granddaughters Amanda Riley, Nashville, Tennessee and Melissa Riley, Lafayette, Colorado, and Great Granddaughter Georgia Riley Burke.
Linda was employed by the Fort Smith School System, retiring as Principal of Sutton Elementary School.
She and Ralph attended Central Presbyterian Church of Fort Smith for many years where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, was on the minister selection committee, and facilitated a Bible Study group. Linda most recently attended Goddard United Methodist Church where she had many church friends, particularly enjoying their after-church lunch dates.
Linda was a “frequent flyer” taking many trips abroad over the years with Ralph, family members, and friends and had visited all 50 States save 1 (the family can’t remember which one!). Her most recent trips were with traveling partners and best friends Suzanne Bethel to France and Sue Mitchell to Florida.
She enjoyed and participated in several charity and volunteer activities related to school, Church and the community, being honored as an honorary Fighting Razorback by the 188th for 30 years of volunteering.
Linda loved and was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
The family wishes to extend deep and heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Baptist Hospital ICU, with special thanks to Kendall, Brittany, Madeline, and Dr. Bateman. The compassion and kindness during this difficult time will be forever remembered. The family also wants to thank special friends Sherri Rogers, Belinda Petway and Linda Pierson who were such a great help and comfort.
A memorial service will be held at Goddard United Methodist Church, Wednesday, December the 18th at 2:00 p.m. Private burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park will be held prior to the memorial service.
