Graham Wayne Meadville, of Fort Smith, passed from this life February 15, 2018 in Fort Smith. He was born January 11, 1930 at exactly Midnight, to parents Harry Wayne Meadville and Elsie Luella Engle. He was born at home, on a farm, 10 miles east of Lawton, Oklahoma. Graham was one of the founding members of the Arkansas Hearing Aid Society, having served on the Board of the Arkansas Hearing Aid Society, the Arkansas Board of Hearing Instrument Dispensers, and the ethics board for the National Board for Hearing Instrument Sciences and a member of the International Hearing Society. He was an active member of the Gideon’s for many years. He served in the United States Army and retired from the Army Reserves. Graham was a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church.
He is survived by daughters, Vicki Lynn Howard of Clarksville and Wendi Michelle Thomasson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his sister, Mayre Shriver of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Nikki Rodgers and husband Chad, Jonathan Howard and wife Katie, Lauren Thomasson, Michael Harmon, Zach Thomasson, and Ian Thomasson; great grandchildren, Brieana, Nadilee, and Dillen Rodgers and Ava Harmon; sister-in-law, Maxine Peters Myers; brothers-in-law, Eddie Peters and wife Wanda and Jimmy Peters and wife Ruth; as well as several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graham was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Faye Meadville; his parents, Harry and Elsie Meadville; and his brother, Harry William (Bill) Meadville.
Funeral services will be 12:30pm Friday, February 23, 2018 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with United States Army honors. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to the Graham Meadville Memorial Fund. Donations will be used to help the hearing impaired, support the Gideon’s Ministry and Support Missions.
