Galen "Butch" Grimes

Galen “Butch” Grimes, 71, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born June 17, 1941 in Topeka, KS to Robert and Margaret Grimes. He was a retired Supervisor for UPS. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and a Veteran of the United States Navy.

Funeral service will be11:30 AM Monday, August 6, 2012 at Living Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Don Price and Brother Dale Ruggles officiating. Burial will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife Bernice, two sons Jerry Grimes and wife Karin of Fort Smith, AR and Shane Salyer and wife Sharron of Chickasha, OK, one brother Neal Grimes of Topeka, KS, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scott, Tracy. Chris and Shawn Epperson, Brett Salyer, Evan Blackford, Trey Emory and Doyle Grimes. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Drake, Deven Salyer, Dale Cason, Jack Alexander and Charles Snider.

The family will visit with friends Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2012, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
