Charles L. Whitlow, 77, of Fort Smith, AR, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, in Fort Smith. He was born January 18, 1937 in Tuckerman, AR to the late Stephan L. and Blanche A. (Adams) Whitlow. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He practiced dentistry in Fort Smith for 25 years and was a faithful member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Monday, August 4, 2014, at Grand Avenue Baptist Church; burial will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery with full Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Kay, one daughter Debbie Monk and husband Chris of El Paso, TX, two sons Chuck Whitlow and wife Beth of Rural Ridge, LA and Stuart Whitlow and wife Melissa of St. John’s, FL, two sisters Jeane Williams of Fort Smith, AR and Wanda Tackett of Memphis, TN and eight grandchildren Leslie Monk, Brian Monk, Samantha Monk, Ian Whitlow, Erin Whitlow, Courtney Whitlow, Connor Whitlow and Jenna Whitlow. Pallbearers will be Chris Monk, Bill Whitlow, Steve Tackett, Ian Whitlow, Brian Monk, and Connor Whitlow. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM at the funeral home.
